Momentos 10.31.13 ¡FELIZ DÍAS DE BRUJAS!

Today's Momentos are extra special because it is Halloween! The students in 6-D finished their Miró-inspired art work. Then, they played cross the river, an activity that requires the students to guide a friend across a river by stepping on colorful rocks. It is funny to watch Audrry Hepburn tell Luke Skywalker what to do...in Spanish!

The Eighth Age chicos tasted pan de los muertos, bread of the dead, in honor of Día de los Muertos, which will be celebrated in many Latin American countries on Saturday. They also made papel picado, colorful tissue paper with decorative cut outs, that will adorn the ofrenda, alter, along with paper marigolds and the sugar skulls that they created in art class.

In honor of Halloween, the Special subjects teachers dressed up as Maryland crabs and Old Bay seasoning. It was a big hit. I also had some Kiddie Calvert trick or treaters who said, "¡Gracias!" When they received their candy! They are ready for Spanish class!

¡FELIZ DÍA DE BRUJAS!
