Currently in the Tenth Age - 4.22.14

The Tenth Age students did a great job learning the singular forms of the regular -ar verbs and the irregular verbs estar and ir. They are now learning how to form -er/-ir verbs in the singular. A common issue that students have is trying to put -ar endings onto -er/-ir verbs and vice versa. We are practicing as much as we can in class through a variety of activities to help the students to remember. One of the activities is "verbos y dados" (verbs and dice). Each number on the die is assigned to a subject and there is a list of infinitives. Based on the number on the die when the student rolls, he or she will conjugate the verb accordingly. To help students at home, the can make up their own version of "verbos y dados" or they can practice using the flashcard set below.  They should practice with the "terms" or front hidden. If they need help with pronunciation, they should press the audio button. I have recorded my voice saying the correct answers.  The "questions" or the side with the blank, is in the Quizlet computer voice. Currently, I only have a flashcard set for the -er/-ir verbs. I want the students to practice this set of verbs more before throwing the -ar verbs into the mix.

Below, you will see the Tenth Age girls doing the "verbos y dados" activity. Click here for the link to the flashcard set for conjugating -er/-ir verbs in the singular. This week, the pictures seem darker in honor of Earth Week. We will work with the lights off as much as possible.

¡FELIZ DÍA DE LA TIERRA!
